Bangkok Airport Arrival Guide: Immigration, Bags & Meeting Your Driver
A calm walkthrough of landing at Bangkok airports — TDAC/immigration, bags, SIM/money, and how to meet a pre-booked transfer driver.
Which Bangkok airport?
Most long-haul flights use Suvarnabhumi (BKK). Some regional/low-cost flights use Don Mueang (DMK). Confirm which airport is on your ticket before you book a transfer — they are far apart.
After landing
- Follow signs to immigration (have passport + TDAC ready)
- Collect bags at the carousel shown on screens
- Exit to arrivals and look for your driver meeting point (usually a named gate / information desk area — your voucher spells it out)
Meeting a pre-booked driver
- Add your flight number when you book a transfer so the driver can track delays
- Drivers typically wait with a name sign in the arrivals hall
- If you cannot find them, message support with your Booking ID (starts with VC) rather than accepting random offers curb-side
SIM, cash & first ride
- eSIM/SIM desks and ATMs are available after arrivals
- Card payments are widely accepted in Bangkok; keep a little cash for small vendors
- Avoid unofficial “taxi helpers” who quote fares without a meter or app — a prepaid transfer removes that negotiation
