Thailand Arrival Checklist: TDAC, Transfers, Money & First-Day Tips
A first-timer checklist for landing in Thailand — TDAC, airport transfer, SIM/money basics, and how digital tour vouchers work.
Before you fly
- Confirm entry rules for your passport — see our visa overview.
- Submit TDAC in the three days before arrival on the official site — details in our TDAC guide.
- Save hotel address in English/Thai for immigration and your driver.
- Pre-book airport transfer with flight number so drivers can track delays — search transfers.
- Download vouchers for any tours or tickets you already booked (mobile QR is enough).
At the airport
- Follow signs for immigration / TDAC queues
- Keep passport and TDAC confirmation handy
- Collect bags, then meet your driver at the lobby/meeting point on your voucher
- Avoid unofficial “helpers” offering paid arrival-card services
Money, SIM & connectivity
- ATMs and currency desks are available airside/landside; card payments are widely accepted in cities
- Consider a local eSIM or SIM after landing if you need maps and WhatsApp support immediately
- Save support WhatsApp / booking IDs offline
First 24 hours
- Rest, hydrate, and confirm tomorrow’s pickup times in Thailand time (ICT)
- Re-check free-cancellation windows — they use local activity time, not your home timezone
- Explore popular experiences or city activities once you’re settled
